WRISE Group Strengthens Core Business Fundamentals with Key Appointments
WRISE Group, a prominent player in the wealth management industry, has announced two pivotal appointments to fortify its commitment to core business principles. Helen Lam has been appointed as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO), while Gaven Koh will take on the role of Group Head of Risk & Compliance for WRISE Group. These appointments are effective immediately.
This strategic move comes at a crucial juncture for the group as it aligns with its regional expansion strategy. Simultaneously, it underscores WRISE's unwavering dedication to solidifying fundamental aspects such as governance, risk management, and compliance.
Both Lam and Koh will play pivotal roles in enhancing the group's operational efficiency and its capacity to meet stringent regulatory compliance standards. This strengthening of the organization's day-to-day operations is particularly critical as WRISE Group continues its growth trajectory across Asian markets.
Effective control and governance, alongside the implementation of robust risk management measures, are integral components of WRISE's growth plans and overall strategy as it continues to serve its clients and expand into new markets. Ms. Lam will be responsible for overseeing the governance and operations of the group, while Mr. Koh will manage all compliance-related requirements for both internal and external stakeholders, including risk assessments, frameworks, policies, and guidelines. Both report directly to Derrick Tan, Chairman of WRISE Group.

Ms. Lam brings more than two decades of experience in the wealth management industry, with leadership roles in prominent financial institutions in Hong Kong, including the Bank of Singapore Hong Kong branch, Citi Private Bank Asia Pacific, and Deutsche Bank A.G. Hong Kong.
Mr. Koh, with over 12 years of experience in the private banking industry, has a proven track record in risk control, compliance, transactions monitoring, and investigations. Before joining WRISE, he led a team at Credit Suisse AG overseeing compliance analysts across the Asia Pacific region and held leadership positions at various financial institutions in Singapore. Prior to his financial sector career, Mr. Koh served as an investigation officer with the Commercial Affairs Department under the Singapore Police Force.
