Law firm launches cross-border family asset protection team

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has launched a new family asset protection team to provide cross-border and corporate family law expertise to HNW and UHNW clients in London and Hong Kong.

This move is understood to form the first new family law team in a major commercial law firm, headquartered in London, in more than 20 years.

Marcus Dearle, partner and head of family asset protection at BLP, is leading the new team.

It will advise on all areas of relationship breakdown with a focus on international pre and post-nuptial agreements, and divorce and trust matters. It will also offer family relationship protection strategies.

Advising from BLP’s offices in Hong Kong and London, the team will work on cases simultaneously in both jurisdictions.

“We are offering a fresh, new, acrimony-busting approach, with outside-the-box thinking, embracing technology and constructively challenging the traditional ways of practising family law,” said Dearle.
