Janus Henderson further boosts client servicing capabilities with multiple new hires

Janus Henderson Investors (JHI) is pleased to announce multiple new key hires to its Asia distribution team.

Alexis Lavergne joins the firm as Investment Specialist- Fixed income while Andrew Cox joins as investment Specialist- Equity in newly created roles, based in Singapore.

Stephanie Joeson and Keith Chan joined JHI’s Hong Kong office respectively as Director and Sales Manager for Intermediary Sales.

Of the appointments, Head of Distribution, Asia and CEO, Singapore, Andrew Hendry, said, “We are pleased to welcome all our new joiners. These hires are indicative of the firm’s renewed focus on client service, and their appointments are testament to the firm’s reputation which continues to attract a high calibre of talent. Importantly, our new teammates will leverage their talent and experience towards realising our growth objectives for Asia by bolstering our ability to meet the needs of our clients and our clients’ clients.”

Alexis and Andrew will serve as experts for their respective asset classes, bringing Portfolio Construction Strategy elements to the fore and serving as an important aide to their distribution partners. They will work closely with investment teams across various time zones to keep Asia clients updated with understanding of investment processes, macro content and awareness of the performance and drivers across a broad range of Janus Henderson funds in a timely manner.

Alexis brings with him more than a decade of asset management experience. He joins JHI from H2O Asset Management where he was Client Portfolio Manager overseeing global macro fixed income & currencies strategies, covering investors across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to that he worked at BlackRock as part of its Southeast Asia Client Business division. Alexis also held roles at Natixis Investment Managers in Singapore and at INDEFI strategy consulting in France.

Andrew joins JHI following a brief career break. Prior to that, he was Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Development at Globalworth, a publicly listed real estate company. Andrew previously held senior equity research and portfolio manager investment roles at Schroders, Ell Capital Management, GIC Real Estate and Numis Securities in London and New York. Andrew brings with him almost two decades of investment experience working across various key functions in asset management.

Both Alexis and Andrew are CFA charterholders and begin their new roles in July 2023. They will report to Head of Distribution, Asia and CEO, Singapore, Andrew Hendry.

Stephanie and Keith will be focused on meeting the needs of Hong Kong intermediary clients.

Stephanie joins JHI from Invesco, where she was Senior Manager, intermediary sales covering private bank distributions. She previously was a Relationship Manager at Income Partners Asset Management where she managed relationships with institutional and intermediary clients. Prior, she was a Relationship Manager at Citibank, where her clients were financial institutions.

Keith Chan joins from Lazard Asset Management, where he was Associate in the Financial Institutions Group. His responsibilities included driving mutual sales across various asset classes including bonds, equities and liquid alternatives. Prior to his role at Lazard, Keith was an Associate at Bank J. Safra Sarasin as Fund Specialist - Financial Strategies Advisory where his role included educating relationship managers and investment consultants on the bank’s mutual fund offerings.

Stephanie and Keith will report to Alex Ng, Head of Intermediary Sales, Asia ex Japan.

The development marks yet another milestone in Janus Henderson’s Asia ambitions. In January, the firm hired Marjorie Soh from Lazard Asset Management as Sales Manager. In May, she was joined by former Abrdn Head of Funds Distribution, Singapore, Shanice Loo, who was appointed the firm’s Director of Sales Management in a newly created client servicing role. The firm hired Timothy Kwek from BlackRock and Ken Tan from DBS Bank during the same period, respectively as Sales Manager and Sales Associate based in the Singapore office while Ran Ma joined JHI’s Hong Kong office from Bloomberg as a Client Account Associate in June.
