HSBC Private Banking appoints Asia Pacific Head of Credit Advisory

HSBC Private Banking has announced the appointment of Jyrki Rauhio as Regional Head of Credit Advisory, Asia-Pacific, effective 2 November 2020.

Rauhio brings to HSBC, depth of experience and a proven track record in building high performance businesses and driving change as HSBC continues to bolster its capabilities to deliver best-in-class HNW and UHNW offerings and work more closely across the Group to provide clients with a seamless and distinct wealth experience, the firm said in a press release.

Rauhio joins HSBC from Citigroup where he spent over 25 years in various roles across multiple cities spanning Helsinki, New York, Warsaw and London, including over 12 years in Hong Kong and Singapore. In the last decade, he has held various senior leadership roles as Managing Director in Citi Private Bank - in London as Global Chief Operating Officer; in Hong Kong as Head of Investment Finance and Banking Asia Pacific; and most recently, in Singapore, as Head of South Asia.

Rauhio replaces Desiree Lam, who will take up a new role within HSBC Private Banking working directly with Siew Meng to drive HSBC’s Asia Wealth strategy. He will report to Siew Meng, and Daniel Mentha, Global Head of Credit Advisory, Global Private Banking.
