Fidelity International launches Returner Programme in Asia Pacific

This initiative aims to expand the pool of diverse talent at the firm, by targeting experienced professionals looking to return to work in investment management after an extended career break.

The Programme in Asia Pacific is launching in partnership with Women Returners, and targets individuals with a background in equity research, multi asset, fixed income investing, product development or sustainable investing.

This initiative comes on the back of a successful run in the UK, where Fidelity has hired over 20 returners into mid-senior level roles in investment management over the course of four years, with an average 7-year career gap among the Returners.

Paras Anand, Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific, at Fidelity International, comments: “Diversity of thought is vital to our success as investors and for the business more broadly. People with varied experiences both professionally and personally are what makes our culture unique. The Returner Programme is a great opportunity for us to reach a talented and skilled group of professionals who might be facing hurdles to re-join the workforce. This programme ensures we are being deliberate about hiring returners and that we have structures in place to support them and set them up for success at Fidelity. At Fidelity, we have set a clear target in strengthening our workplace – by 2024, we aim to have 45% of our board members be women and 35% of global senior management roles to be held by women (currently at 31.5%). Initiatives like this one, will support our overall targets.”
