DBS announces new head of digital bank

Olivier Crespin, DBS’ group head of digital bank since 2014, is leaving to pursue a new role in another organisation outside Singapore, a spokesperson for the bank has confirmed.

Crespin joined DBS in 2010 as chief operating officer COO for DBS’ wealth management business. He previously worked with Citi.

“Our regional head of e-business, Sandeep Lal, has been concurrently appointed as group head of digital bank. He will continue to report to Pearlyn Phau, deputy group head of consumer banking and wealth management,” said a statement from DBS.

Lal joined DBS in 2008 and has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking and digital payments space. Before joining DBS, Sandeep was regional head for PayPal – he started with PayPal from its start-up days in the US in 2000.
