Citi's Global Market Manager for Mainland China Steps Down Amid Regional Restructuring

Seamus Yin, one of Citi's global market managers for mainland China, has left the company.

Citywire Asia has confirmed that Yin, who had served the bank for a decade, most recently managed the bank’s private client coverage for the southern and western regions of mainland China from his base in Hong Kong. His areas of focus included significant provinces like Guangdong and Fujian.

Yin had joined Citi in 2014, bringing with him experience from JP Morgan Private Bank where he managed offshore banking for Chinese entrepreneurs. His resignation follows a major reorganization within Citi last year that divided the Asia Pacific region into three clusters. This restructuring preceded the retirement of Citi’s Asia wealth boss, Angel Ng. Marc Luet has since taken over her role, leading the Asia North and Australia cluster. Additionally, Vicky Kong was named the wealth head for North Asia and Australia, while Shyam Sambamurthy, who was appointed as the South Asia wealth head, has also resigned. The bank has chosen not to comment on Yin's departure.
