Appointments in Credit Suisse Private Banking North Asia

Credit Suisse continues Asia expansion with appointments in Private Banking North Asia, including Stella Lau as a Market Leader in Private Banking Greater China Singapore market, and five senior bankers as well as an Investment Consultant.

Credit Suisse continues to broaden its onshore footprint to tap into fast growing markets in the region. The bank is particularly focused on accelerating growth in North Asia including China.

To drive this growth, Credit Suisse has announced that Stella Lau has re-joined the Private Banking Greater China Singapore as a second Market Leader, effective August 23, 2021. She will be based in Singapore and report to Keng Cheong Lock, Market Group Head, Private Banking Greater China Singapore.

Stella is a veteran in the private banking industry with close to 20 years of experience, focusing on the China market. She was also part of the Credit Suisse’s private banking team covering the Greater China Market from 2010 to 2012.

Stella began her wealth management career at Citibank in 1997. Prior to re-joining Credit Suisse, she was Head for China market at J.P. Morgan for four years, where she was instrumental in building a high-performing team to capture market share in the competitive Chinese Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) and Family Office segments. Stella was previously with UBS as a China Desk Head for five years where she led her team of UHNW relationship managers for the Singapore and Malaysia market.

Stella assumes her role alongside John Huang, Market Leader, Greater China Singapore.

The five senior bankers announced are:

  • Shirley Li joined Credit Suisse as an Expert Relationship Manager for the China market, based in Hong Kong. She has more than 20 years of banking experience in the China market. Shirley joins us from CMB Wing Lung Bank where she was the Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management.
  • Teresa Tam joined Credit Suisse as an Expert Relationship Manager for the Hong Kong market. Teresa is based in Hong Kong and brings with her more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector. She joins us from Bank J Safra Sarasin where she was a Senior Relationship Manager.
  • Sanjeev Sharma joined our North Asia Switzerland market team as a Senior Expert Relationship Manager, based in Zurich. He was previously from Julius Baer where he was a Senior Advisor and Cluster Head covering the Great China markets since 2017.
  • Yandy Tano joined the Greater China Singapore team as an Expert Relationship Manager, based in Singapore. He has more than 10 years of private banking experience and started his career with Bank Sarasin. He was formerly from BNP Paribas and Julius Baer before joining Credit Suisse from DBS Private bank.
  • Jae-Ock Li joined Credit Suisse as a Senior Relationship Manager for Japan and Korea International, based in Hong Kong. In her most recent role, she was a Relationship Manager at UBS for 12 years.

 

Finally Leon Mok has joined Credit Suisse as an Investment Consultant for Hong Kong market. Leon has 16 years of investment bank and private bank experience, including 12 years at HSBC.

Since the start of June 2021, Credit Suisse has added eleven Relationship Managers to the Private Banking North Asia team
