Unlocking the Potential of Digital Assets and Tokenization in Wealth Management

Join us on February 15th for our Digital Dialogue event dedicated to the evolving landscape of digital assets, as our panel of experts dissect the growing potential for private clients to participate in investments from cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum to a rapidly expanding variety of tokenized investments representing all types of assets, from perhaps commercial property to private equity funds to carbon credits and all sorts of collectables. The experts will focus on key questions for the wealth management industry, including key issues around the quality and governance of the rapidly growing digital assets ecosystem, the evolving infrastructure, and key concerns over regulation and compliance.

There is certainly growing excitement as the digital assets revolution is in full swing again, with Bitcoin and other crypto prices soaring again since early 2023 after the collapse of prices from late 2021 and through 2022. With the untimely demise of several high-profile brokerages and exchanges – most notably FTX - during the same phase, and with private equity and digital asset investors having adopted a dramatically more cautious and rigorous approach to selectivity, governance and best practices, the market has gone through some blood letting and is now back on a considerably more stable footing.

Regulators have intensified their licensing, compliance and oversight efforts, and private clients are very gradually gaining confidence again, and gently taking more exposures, emboldened also by a greater institutional presence and also by new vehicles to offer them better access and (hopefully) greater safety, such as cryptocurrency ETFs that trade on TradFi exchanges.

With the crypto winter now seemingly over and a new spring in the market’s step, the experts will paint a picture of significant progress whilst highlighting further advances required to cement this progress, presaging a rising engagement from the wealth management industry and its private clients as they now also begin to dip their toes into the growing array of tokenized assets, all supported by the blockchain.

Accordingly, as more and more advisors and asset managers begin to see digital assets as a core part of the future, there is a lot of learning and communication required around the market infrastructure, the assets, the nuances of compliance, purchase, storage, custody, and the fluctuations of market pricing and volatility.

So, what needs to align or improve for the wealth management industry to promote digital assets more actively and energetically? Join us on February 15th to find out from our hand-picked experts.

Plus, by attending this session, you will also be entitled to receive a 1 Hour CPD/CPT Certificate.

These are some of the key questions the experts will address:

  • In the aftermath of the FTX collapse, and a host of other negative news in late 2021 and 2022, then the cryptocurrency recovery in 2023, is the worst over for investors in cryptocurrencies?
  • What are the infrastructure building blocks required for institutional investors, asset managers, private banks who want to work with digital assets?
  • How has regulation evolved since the crypto exchange chaos, and are the current safety measures adequate for investors within the existing digital assets ecosystem?
  • What are the regulatory updates we need to consider?
  • What is Tokenization? What kinds of tokenized assets might become popular in the future?
  • Why Should Asia’s HNWIs and UHNWIs Invest in Digital Assets?
  • Should Private Banks and Wealth Managers Recommend Digital Assets as part of a comprehensive strategy? What clients are they suitable for?
  • How much should HNWIs and UHWNIs invest in digital assets?
  • What are the main obstacles for banks and wealth managers in starting a digital asset strategy?
  • How can banks and financial advisors teach their clients about cryptocurrencies and digital assets? What good will this do?
  • What changes or improvements do industry participants want to see in the new field of digital securities and tokenization?
  • How can one invest safely and smartly in digital assets? How should they keep these digital assets secure?
  • What’s coming next for digital assets, and what does this mean for wealth management in Asia?
