Vanda Global Capital and Drew & Napier sign MoU

Vanda Global Capital (VGC), a Singapore-based fund management firm, and Drew & Napier, one of the largest law firms in Singapore, have reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), in which Drew & Napier will offer VGC clients legal services.

The collaboration will mark the first inked by Drew & Napier in its history, according to an article by Finews Asia; the firm was founded in 1889, thus marking something of a momentous occasion.

Benjamin Gaw, Director, Drew & Napier, said: “We have now built a mutual ecosystem to benefit our clients, and both teams look forward to helping companies develop into leaders in their respective industries.”

VGC, which was founded in 2018, from which time it has been led by CEO Low Wei Ling, who was previously a Managing Director for Standard Chartered Bank, according to her LinkedIn.

The firm reports a thematic focus on the FinTech and RegTech sectors, and aims to support and develop the Singaporean offering, and as such prioritises supporting initiatives in its locality, as well as those falling within the parameters of ESG guidelines.

Speaking of the MoU, Low said: “We’re confident that when economic stability eventually resumes, Singapore’s vision of establishing the nation as a leading innovation fintech hub will further accelerate.”

VGC states that it is planning to, “when necessary, forge synergistic tie-ups and partnerships as befits the enhancement of opportunities to project Singapore’s robust, financial and pro-business capabilities globally,” according to the firm’s website.
