Standard Chartered appoints Chief Investment Officer for North Asia region

Standard Chartered Bank has announced the appointment of Raymond Cheng as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), North Asia.

Based in Hong Kong, Raymond reports to Steve Brice, Group Chief Investment Officer.

In this newly created role, Raymond will be responsible for the CIO office’s coverage and capabilities for the North Asia region, and represent the CIO office’s views to the Bank’s Affluent clients.

Raymond joins from JP Morgan Private Bank where he was the Head of Asia Equity Strategy, leading a team that was responsible for developing Asian equity views and themes as well as issuing security specific recommendations. Prior to that, Raymond was Head of Research at Bank of Communications, and Bank of China.
