Standard Chartered announces senior appointments in ASEAN & Indonesia

Rino Donosepoetro and Andrew Chia have been appointed as Vice Chairman for ASEAN and of Chief Executive Officer for Indonesia respectively for Standard Chartered Bank.

Donosepoetro takes on the roles of Vice Chairman for ASEAN and President Commissioner for Standard Chartered Indonesia respectively, following three years as Indonesia Chief Executive Officer for the bank. He will continue to be based in Indonesia in his new role.

He has been with Standard Chartered for over two decades, boasting strong track record in audit and business with postings across six countries, according to a press release by the bank. Prior to being appointed Indonesia CEO, Donosepoetro was the CEO of Standard Chartered in Brunei, as well as the Falkland Islands.

Chia will be filling the role of Indonesia CEO, taking up the mantle from Donosepoetro. He was previously the Head of Retail Banking for Singapore, having been affiliated with Standard Chartered for over 9 years.

He brings 25 years of industry experience to his new role, spanning Financial Markets, Wealth Management and Retail Banking. Chia boasts an excellent track record in transforming the bank’s Retail Banking businesses in Singapore and Taiwan, according to the press release.

In his new role, Chia will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for the Indonesian franchise, local clients and businesses, bottom line and profitability, as well as holding the position of Retail Banking Head for Indonesia.
