Silverdale Capital appoints new Independent Director

Singapore based fund manager Silverdale Capital has reportedly announced the appointment of former Columbia Threadneedle executive Andrew Chan as an independent director to the board of its Silverdale Fund VCC.

Chan joins Silverdale after a role as chief operating officer for Columbia Threadneedle in the Asia Pacific and previous roles with Merrill Lynch and DBS, where he began his career, Citywire Asia reported in an article, written by Lachlan Colquhoun.

Sanjay Guglani, CIO, Silverdale Capital, said that Chan’s “rich experience of leading large, esteemed, and complex multinational financial powerhouses with over 38 years of sterling track record would be of immense value to Silverdale.”

Silverdale reportedly manages assets of more than USD1 billion across multiple funds, and Silverdale Fund VCC is incorporated as an umbrella fund under the Variable Capital Companies Act of Singapore with multiple sub-funds.

Established in November 2020, Silverdale Fund VCC Umbrella has already launched seven sub-funds.

The Silverdale Group was established in London and Geneva in 2000 as a boutique Asset Management firm and Investment Bank.

The firm became a specialist investor in India and the emerging markets of Asia.

Silverdale set up in Singapore in 2008 and in 2010 decided to focus exclusively on fund management, divesting all other businesses.
