Omar Siddiq appointed CEO of HSBC Malaysia

CIMB Group Holdings Omar Siddiq Amin Noer Rashid has resigned as deputy chief executive officer of its Malaysia business to join HSBC Bank Malaysia as CEO.

HSBC has hired Omar Siddiq from CIMB Group to head its Malaysian unit, the bank said in a statement.

Omar will replace HSBC's current Malaysia CEO, Stuart Milne, who is retiring end of March, HSBC said in a statement. 

Omar was at CIMB for more than 3 years, following roles at RHB Bank, Malaysia Airlines and Khazanah Nasional, according to his LinkedIn profile.

CIMB Group CEO Abdul Rahman Ahmad will directly over the wholesale banking business in the interim.
