Indian insurers test Chatbots

A number of insurance companies in India are increasingly adopting technology to better manage operations and customer interactions, according to local media reports.

In line with this, the past few months have seen several firms roll out Chatbots and email bots, powered by artificial intelligence.

For example, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance launched its Chatbot called ‘Boing’, to address customer queries on motor and health insurance.

ICICI Lombard General Insurance, Birla Sun Life Insurance, PNB MetLife India Insurance, and HDFC Standard Life Insurance, are all using bots either for customer support or sales, reported Livemint.
