HSBC names Head of Wealth and Personal Banking

HSBC has announced the appointment of Greg Hingston as Regional Head of Wealth and Personal Banking, Asia-Pacific, beginning from April 2020.

Hingston first joined HSBC in 2006, being appointed as Head of Strategic Business Analysis & Development, Personal Financial Services Asia, according to his LinkedIn. Most recently, he was Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Hong Kong, responsible for the divisions’ operations.

Prior to joining HSBC, Hingston was Regional Head of Strategic Planning & M&A for Prudential, based in Hong Kong. He began his career with Kingfisher, having been based in the UK before relocating to Hong Kong in 1998.

HSBC’s wealth and personal banking unit is the product of the merging of HSBC’s retail banking and wealth management, and global private banking units to for a business reported to have a USD1.4 trillion valuation.
