Fiera Capital Announces Executive Appointments

Fiera Capital, a leading independent asset management firm, has announced the appointment of Jean-Philippe Lemay as Global President and Chief Operating Officer as of March 2020.

Lemay succeeds Vincent Duhamel, who has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fiera Capital. Duhamel, who was instrumental in implementing the 2022 Strategic Plan, will transition his management responsibilities as a member of the Board while remaining involved as Fiera Capital transition into another phase of its strategic plan.

Lemay will oversee the Canadian, US and European divisions of the firm and join the internal boards of Directors of Fiera Private Alternative Investments and Bel Air Investment Advisors. Fiera Private Alternative Investments as well as corporate functional units such as Finance, Legal and Compliance, Global Human Resources and Corporate Communications report directly to Jean-Guy Desjardins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Jean-Philippe Lemay has some 20 years of industry experience, according to a press release by Fiera Capital. In addition to leading the Canadian division, his prior experiences at Fiera Capital include positions as senior portfolio manager – liability-driven investments, as well as Chief Investment Officer. Jean-Philippe graduated from Université Laval with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), majoring in Actuarial Sciences. He later received a Master's in Financial Mathematics (M.Sc.) from Stanford University, and also became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). In addition, he acquired the title of Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) in May 2017.
