EFG Further Strengthens its Business In Asia Pacific and Announces a Strong Line-Up of New CROs in the Region
EFG International, the global private banking group offering private banking and asset management services, has announced the appointment of eight new Client Relationship Officers to further strengthen its teams in Hong Kong and Singapore.
EFG is committed to growing its business in Asia Pacific as part of its 2025 strategic plan. The bank has announced the hire of eight new Client Relationship Officers (CROs) to further strengthen its teams in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Hong Kong represents one of EFG’s core markets in the Asia Pacific Region. To expand and further enhance the expertise of its Private Banking and Independent Asset Managers (IAM) teams in this market, EFG Hong Kong branch has hired five new CROs, including Elvis Lau, who has been appointed Head of the IAM team in Hong Kong.
Elvis Lau brings with him extensive experience in the IAM business and in the area of fund management. He was previously Director of External Asset Management (EAM) Greater China at Credit Suisse, where he served the needs of family offices and EAMs and their end-clients across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand. Elvis Lau will report directly to Jessica Ng, Head of Private Banking, Hong Kong.
EFG Hong Kong branch has also hired Edward Chan, Alex Chang, Ryan Zhao and Flora Law:
Edward Chan is a veteran banker with over 35 years of experience in the finance industry. He previously worked for financial institutions including Bank of Singapore, BOCI, Barclays, Standard Chartered, Coutts, UBS and Citi, serving ultra-high-net-worth clients in China. He was most recently Executive Director and Team Head Greater China North Asia Market at Bank of Singapore. He is also a Certified Private Wealth Professional (CPWP) and will report directly to Jessica Ng.
Alex Chang has over 20 years of international wealth management experience in Hong Kong and Seoul. Before joining EFG, he was a Senior Director in International Wealth Management at Nomura International (Hong Kong). He will report to Michelle Wu, Private Banking Team Head.
Ryan Zhao has around 15 years of wealth management experience in China and Hong Kong. He previously worked for financial institutions including RBC Investment, BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered, DBS and UOB. He was most recently an Investment Advisor at RBC Investment Services Hong Kong. He will report to Joel Goh, Private Banking Team Head.
Flora Law is an experienced relationship manager serving family offices and IAMs. Before joining EFG, she was a Relationship Manager in the EAM Greater China team at Credit Suisse. She will report directly to Elvis Lau.
EFG Singapore branch has also hired three new CROs to strengthen its activities in Southeast Asia: Nicholas Yee, Shubhra Pandey and Jolene Zhang.
Nicholas Yee has over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. Before joining EFG, he was a Relationship Manager in the Greater China and North Asia team at Bank of Singapore and spent several years at Bloomberg as a Sales Trader/Execution Consultant. He will report to Tay Yu Jin, Deputy Head of Private Banking and Greater China, Southeast Asia Team Head.
Shubhra Pandey has almost 15 years of experience in banking. Prior to joining EFG, she was a Relationship Manager at Standard Chartered Bank focusing on the UAE market and she previously also spent several years at First Abu Dhabi Bank in the UAE as a Wealth Relationship Manager. She will report to Oliver Balmelli, Head of Private Banking, Southeast Asia.
Jolene Zhang has 10 years of experience in private banking. Before joining EFG, she was a Relationship Manager in the Greater China team at DBS Bank and previously also held similar positions at UOB Private Bank and Bank of Singapore. She will report to Tay Yu Jin, Deputy Head of Private Banking and Team Head, Greater China, Southeast Asia.
