Cover Genius announces expansion of its team in Asia

Cover Genius, a global insurance technology company, has announced the appointment of Arijit Chakraborty as Managing Director of Southeast Asia and India.

Chakraborty joins Cover Genius to lead the firm’s regional teams across Southeast Asia, according to a statement posted on the firm’s LinkedIn.

Chakraborty joins Cover Genius from AR-CH Private Limited, a Singapore-headquartered business, legal and regulatory consultancy firm which Chakraborty founded in Q3 2017. In addition, he was Chief Insurance Officer for Axinan until Q1 2020, a role in which he was responsible for insurance and reinsurance partnerships, licensing and strategy, as well as managing all legal, regulatory and compliance matters, according to his LinkedIn.

He brings over 17 years of experience to his new role with Cover Genius, having also been affiliated with Temasek, AIA, Tokio Marine Life Insurance, where he was Head of Legal, Compliance & Corporate Secretariat, and Zurich Insurance, where he was General Counsel and an Executive Committee Member, as well as Manulife.

The appointment of Chakraborty follows other senior appointments, says Cover Genius, including Saurabh Mehta as Partnerships Director, Southeast Asia and India, Amitansh Gupta as Director of Insurance in India, and Vas Ramanujam as Director of Insurance in Malaysia.
