BNY Mellon secures SICE License for Operations in Taiwan

BNY Mellon Investment Management has reportedly received a Securities Investment Consulting Enterprise (SICE) business license.

On the back of receiving the license, the firm has opened a new office in the Taiwanese capital, according to an article by Finews Asia.

The license will allow BNY Mellon to grow and strengthen its presence in Taiwan, bolstering its relationship with clients in the nation and promoting its branding in the market.

Doni Shamsuddin, Head of Asia Pacific (ex-Japan), BNY Mellon Investment Management, said: “Our focus continues to be on growing our institutional business in Taiwan while working closely with our master agent Taiwan Cooperative SITE to deliver investment excellence and industry-leading client experience.”

Rebecca Chu has been appointed as BNY Mellon’s Head of Taiwan, initially joining the firm from CTBC Investments, based in Hong Kong. She is responsible for overseeing a team charged with serving Taiwanese clients and local business development.

Chu will be supported in her role by Jessie Chen, Business Development Manager, who has reportedly joined BNY Mellon from BlackRock, where she was an Associate.
