Amundi launches three flagship funds in Singapore to bolster retail and ESG offerings

Expanded offering strengthens Amundi’s core expertise in Singapore while meeting the evolving needs of investors amid an uncertain market environment.

Amundi has announced it is introducing three flagship funds to retail investors in Singapore. With all three funds holding either 4-star or 5-star Morningstar ratings, the expanded offering strengthens Amundi’s core expertise in Singapore while meeting the evolving needs of investors amid an uncertain market environment.

The three flagship funds are:

  • Amundi Funds Pioneer US Bond2: A multi-sector fixed income fund that invests mainly in a wide range of U.S. dollar-denominated investment grade bonds, with the goal of achieving competitive returns without excessive additional volatility.
  • Amundi Funds Polen Capital Global Growth2: A global equity fund with a high-conviction portfolio that consists of high quality companies, including some of the world’s leading businesses with sustainable competitive advantages and the potential to deliver above-average earnings and long-term free cash flow growth over the long term.
  • KBI Global Sustainable Infrastructure Fund2: A global equity fund focused on high quality and sustainable infrastructure companies that aims to deliver strong investment returns with diverse exposure to water and clean energy infrastructure, food storage and transportation and farmland. KGI Global Investors has been part of the Amundi Group since 2016.

Vincent Mortier, Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Asia ex-Japan Supervisor at Amundi said: “The path to recovery in 2021 will be an uneven one, with the virus cycle dictating the sequence. Against this backdrop of low rates, low growth and low inflation, the flagship offering can provide investors exposure to opportunities for diversification, quality value and post-Covid ESG themes. It will be a multi-year process to get the world back in order, which makes it all the more important that investors consider core strategic building blocks to build a long-term resilient portfolio.”

Beyond offering differentiation with a proven track record, two of the flagship funds actively integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations in the portfolio evaluation process, to address growing sustainability challenges and meet investors’ ESG investment goals.

Amundi Funds Polen Capital Global Growth has a 5-globe Morningstar Sustainability Rating3, a ranking that allows investors to understand how the companies in their portfolios are managing their environmental, social and governance – or ESG – risks relative to their peers. Additionally, more than 80% of revenue4 from KBI Global Sustainable Infrastructure Fund directly supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Eric Bramoullé, Amundi’s Chief Executive Officer of South Asia added: “The introduction of these flagship funds demonstrates our ‘best-of-breed’ approach in providing carefully chosen offerings to meet the evolving needs of Singapore investors. By bringing in these impactful investment solutions, Amundi shows our commitment to provide investors access to growth and sustainable investment opportunities to address the needs of tomorrow.”

In 2018, Amundi established a three-year action plan that targets to integrate ESG criteria in all actively managed open-ended funds by the end of 2021. It also aims to reach 100% in ESG analyses for the securities in its portfolios and benchmarks, while 100% of proxy votes will take ESG issues into consideration. Amundi manages €378 billion in responsible investment as of December 2020.
