Soumya spent 16 years with ANZ Grindlays Bank / Standard Chartered Bank, her last assignment being Managing Director and Head Private Bank, India before recognising a gap in the wealth management segment and co-founding Waterfield. In 2010, she was awarded Outstanding Young Private Banker by Private Banker International for excellence in performance, leadership and innovation. In 2014 and 2015, she was featured in the CityWealth IFC Power Women Top 200 list.
Soumya also serves on the Board of Trustees of Reach to Teach, a UK-based charity that works in the area of primary education with under-privileged children between the ages of 3-14 years in rural and disadvantaged areas in India to improve school attendance and teacher training capabilities.
Soumya won the Radhakrishnan Scholarship to study at Oxford University where she completed a degree in Mathematics from Balliol College. Prior to Oxford, Soumya completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from St. Stephens College, Delhi.
