Profile:

Aditi Kothari Desai is an Executive Director on the Board of DSP BlackRock Investment Managers. She heads Sales, Marketing and E-Business and serves as a member of the Executive and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committees at DSP BlackRock.

Aditi also leads financial wellness initiatives at DSP BlackRock and was instrumental in launching Winvestor, a special initiative aimed at empowering women with financial knowledge to plan for their economic and long-term security. Among the many activities under the aegis of this program, interactive workshops are conducted in top organizations across the country to inspire corporate working women to take their first steps in their financial journey. Through its partnership with NGOs such as Sanchayan and Parinaam, DSP BlackRock has also reached out to over 4000 underprivileged women as part of the initiative. Aditi also volunteered to partner with Vogue India’s social awareness initiative by pledging to support the education of at least 5000 women from underprivileged backgrounds across India.

Aditi joined Merrill Lynch’s investment banking group in New York in 1998, primarily working on M&A activities in the Financial Institutions Group. Subsequently, she worked in DSP Merrill Lynch as part of the fixed income sales team and later joined DSP Merrill Lynch Fund Managers in 2002 (now DSP BlackRock) where she worked on various projects, including establishing an offshore fund for foreign investors.

Aditi is a Trustee in the Hemendra Kothari Foundation as well as the Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Apart from being an Independent Director at Godrej Agrovet, she also serves on the Advisory Board of DASRA, a leading strategic philanthropy foundation in India.

Aditi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
