Family Office Forum 2023
The Fullerton Hotel,Singapore

We all know that there has been an explosion in the number of HNW and UHNW individuals in the past 10-15 years, and a dramatic rise in the assets they and their families hold. We also know that there has been a remarkable expansion in the number of single-family offices and multi-family offices in the past several years, and that Singapore, by dint of the outstanding set of government fiscal and other incentives, as well as the city-state’s remarkable lifestyle and infrastructure, has risen to become the go-to family centre within Asia Pacific, drawing in families and principals from the region, and many from the Middle East, Europe and even the US.
But whether they are heading to Singapore or to other centres such as Hong Kong, Dubai, or elsewhere to establish their family offices, a vital and overriding question is how do these UHNW individuals and families go about creating the optimal day-to-day operational structures, technologies and practices to ensure that their SFO operations are efficient, seamless, professional, cost-effective and also, for the expanding ranks of MFOs, scalable as they seek to pull in more client families to their proposition?
In short, whatever any of the family jurisdictions might offer, UHNWIs and their families and the principals of the MFOs must take the right steps to establishing their family offices on firm footings, with appropriate licensing and compliance, and achieve the appropriate scale and staffing to make the whole effort worthwhile. And it is precisely these issues, and many more besides, that will dominate the Agenda at the February 9 event.
The 25-plus expert speakers will be selected from Single-Family Offices, Multi-Family Offices, private banks, independent wealth firms, trustees, lawyers, accountants, consultants, immigration specialists, regulators and others from the wider family office and wealth management ecosystem.
These are some of the key topics that will be covered in the Forum:
- Who is setting up family offices from within Asia Pacific or further afield, and what are their core objectives?
- What are the key issues to address in a smart and comprehensive planning process?
- Why is Singapore such a magnet for family office clients from the world over and how does the jurisdiction compare to other leading centres?
- What shape is the family office of the future and how should it be operated?
- How do you comprehensively and proactively manage tax, compliance, data, and reporting?
- What are the pitfalls to avoid in terms of establishing and then operating a family office?
- What mistakes do family offices make in their approach to their operations and what is the new wave of thinking about structuring, staffing, and managing these entities?
- Family, friends, or third-party professionals, or all three? Getting the balance right.
- What systems, processes, technology, and protocols do you need to adopt when you define and then operate a future-proofed family office?
- Do you do it all yourself, do you partner with an external platform, and how much should you outsource?
- What makes the ideal technology, platform solutions and outsourcing partner?
- How do you oversee privacy and cyber-security?
- What role does an efficient family office play in estate and legacy planning and inter-generational wealth transfer, and how do the right systems, processes and approaches support those missions?
- Who are Eton Solutions, why is their new international HQ in Singapore, and what can they offer UHNW families and MFO principals?
- What exactly is the Eton Solutions AtlasFive® platform, and why has it been so successful in their home US family office market?
- Why is Eton Solutions so committed to best family office practices and to helping boost engagement within the wealth and professional services ecosystem?
Join us on February 9 for what will surely be an informative, lively, educational, and also comprehensive overview of the state of the art around establishing, operating, and developing a family office that is fit for tomorrow’s world.
