Vikas has showcased his entrepreneurial qualities throughout his 25-year banking career. He played a key role in establishing Global Non-Resident Indian Wealth businesses across key markets worldwide, while successfully building Global Wealth Management franchises across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Early in his career, Vikas was instrumental in setting up a successful business unit in Nairobi, Kenya that provided coverage to 7 frontier markets across Africa. He also has experience managing large business franchises. As a Business Head in the Middle East, Vikas built a team of 120 bankers, operations and compliance staff – offering coverage to over 1,000 clients across the region. Vikas is also a leader in business transformation. He successfully led the Citi Global Indian Business (Asia) through the global financial crisis in 2008 and increased client satisfaction scores to 86%, despite the uncertain times. Over the following 10 years, he transformed the business into an offshore business model through a series of digital engagement initiatives with clients in Asia and Africa. Vikas works closely with ultra-high net-worth clients and families in the Indian diaspora and has built a strong reputation for providing sound advice on wealth management, succession planning and estate planning. He has been instrumental in hiring and mentoring some of the most successful private bankers in the wealth management business. His integrity and experience across business cycles is valued by clients, industry peers and business leaders alike. Vikas speaks English, Hindi and Swahili. Vikas is passionate about sports and is an avid golfer, cyclist and tennis player.
