Mark Smallwood took up his current role on 1st March 2009. He is a Member of the Executive and Management Committees of Private Wealth Management (PWM) in Asia Pacific and also a Member of the Executive Committee of the Fiduciary Services Division of PWM. Prior to Singapore, Mark was with Deutsche Bank (Suisse) SA in Geneva, Switzerland, for six years where he was Global Head of Insurance Solutions and a member of the Key Clients Group.

Mark has been involved with and executed a wide variety of projects at Deutsche Bank, including the establishment of PWM’s European compliant insurance wrapper platforms, establishing Luxembourg SICAV (Part II), UCITS III and SICAR platforms for proprietary product and cross-border delivery, and advising Key Clients on holistic solutions to their wealth planning problems.

In Singapore, Mark’s primary role is to manage the wealth planners within Asia Pacific and promote the use of holistic solutions to client needs. Mark continues to supervise the existing European platforms.

Mark spent his formative years in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, served as an officer in the British Army, worked as an independent financial adviser with Sedgwick Group (now Marsh) in the UK, and established and ran a family office in the Caribbean incorporating a licensed insurance, trust, corporate services and asset management business.

Mark is a full member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
