Marcus Svedberg is Chief Economist at East Capital, in charge of macro-economic and political analysis of emerging markets in general, and Eastern Europe in particular.
Marcus has held the position for five years and was previously at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economies (SITE), where he was Chief Analyst and also Acting MD for a time. At SITE, he was responsible for political and industry-related analysis of transition countries for the public and private sectors.
Previous employers include the Swedish Trade Council and Kreab, the largest communication consultancy in Sweden. Marcus has vast experience of macro-economic analysis and has had several reports on and analyses of transition economies published and is a frequent commentator on emerging markets in international media.
He has a master’s degree in transition economics from the London School of Economics.
