SF Wong joined the Institute as the Chief Executive in April 2009. Prior to this, he worked for DBS Bank in Singapore as Managing Director for eight years, where his responsibilities included Advisory Sales, Equity Derivatives Trading, Investment Products and Private Banking. He also served as a member of the Boards of DBS Asset Management and DBS Vickers. From 1998 to 2000, he was a Senior Executive Director of the Market Services Group of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, overseeing the Information Technology & Trading, The Stock Option Exchange and Information Services.
SF has over 30 years of experience in banking and finance, and has held various senior positions in Citibank, Credit Suisse, Toronto Dominion Bank and JP Morgan. He also taught undergraduate and MBA courses in Finance at the University of Hong Kong in the mid-1980s.
SF has been a member of the Institute since 1998, and served on the Examinations Committee in 1999 to 2000. He holds a MBA degree (Specialisation in Finance) from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester. He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1989.
