Holding a Masters Degree in Macroeconomics from the University of Copenhagen, and having completed a one-year internship with Tata Steel in Mumbai, India, Eric Pedersen started his career as an economist for the United Nations, where he was posted to Mali in West Africa.
Returning to Denmark, Eric joined the Treasury Department of the then-Unibank of Denmark in 1996. Clausen later went on to become President and Chief Executive Officer of the Nordea Group, a post he currently holds.
Since then, Eric has held positions as Director of Business Strategy - Asset Management & Life, Head of Product Development, and Head of Nordic Fund Sales within Nordea. In 2008, he left Nordea for a position as Senior Vice President and Director for the Nordic Region at Putnam Investments of Boston, US. He returned to Nordea in 2010 to oversee the development of the Group’s Asian private banking business.
