Linda Gu is the Senior Vice President of Global Institutional Software at Morningstar. In this senior leadership role, she oversees Morningstar’s investment research software business in the international markets.
Linda is responsible for developing product, sales, marketing and acquisition strategies, and oversees the global product operation. She launched the company’s flagship investment research software – Morningstar Direct – in the oversea markets in 2005. She also established and built up the global product operation from scratch. In recognition of Linda’s leadership in the phenomenal growth of Morningstar Direct since its introduction, she is honoured as the sole winner of the company-wide Chairman’s Award in 2011.
Linda has 14 years of experience in creating products to serve the need of investment researchers and financial advisers globally. She has in-depth knowledge and global perspective on a wide range of topics such as asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, and the general investment and wealth management industry.
Linda holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Loyola University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
