Benjamin Pedley's career began in Sydney, Australia, where he worked for various institutions including Macquarie Bank and HSBC. In 1999, he moved to Asia as an economics and currency analyst for CNBC, based in Singapore.
In January 2005, he joined LGT Bank in Liechtenstein (Singapore) Ltd, where he worked as an investment strategist. A promotion to the position of Managing Director, Head of Advisory Services, in March 2008 led to a move to Hong Kong. Benjamin left the firm in May 2010 and joined HSBC Private Bank soon after as Senior Director, Head of Investment Strategy, North Asia.
Benjamin's areas of expertise include foreign exchange and commodities. His current role involves sourcing and creating investment vehicles, including structured products, on behalf of clients.
As a regular guest on Bloomberg, CNBC and BBC amongst others, he is often invited to speak and give his views on the current state of, and outlook for, financial markets around the region.
