Jim Shapiro joined the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in July 2009. He is a member of the Exchange’s management committee and responsible for managing several functions of the Exchange – including strategy, market data, index products and its international and investor relations.
Prior to joining the BSE, Jim worked as Senior Managing Director of Galileo Global Advisors, and at the New York Stock Exchange in various senior management positions in research, strategic planning and international business development.
Jim holds a BA from Harvard College and MA and M Phil. degrees in economics from Yale University.
He serves on the boards of two BSE-affiliated companies – CDSL, one of India’s two central securities depositaries, and CDSL Ventures.
