MSCI Appoints Chief Diversity Officer

MSCI appoints Tia Counts to the role of Chief Diversity Officer, effective May 17, 2021.

Based in London, Ms. Counts will report to Scott Crum, Chief Human Resources Officer, in this newly created role. She will be responsible for operating across MSCI to align our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) goals with business outcomes.

Counts joins MSCI with an extensive background in Diversity and Inclusion within the financial services industry. She previously served as Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion for JP Morgan’s Asset & Wealth Management business, and the Global Corporate & Investment Bank and EMEA Head of Advancing Black Pathways. In addition, Ms. Counts held a variety of senior roles at Morgan Stanley in New York and London. She began her career as a lawyer at Clifford Chance LLP in New York.

Counts currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of Directors at the Camden Art Centre in London. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from Columbia University Law School. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.
