Richard Johnston set up Albourne Partners (Asia) Limited in September 2004 in order to expand Asian coverage for Albourne Partners Limited, a leading UK-based independent hedge fund and private equity advisory firm representing over 165 clients with over US$220 billion invested in hedge funds. Albourne Partners Limited was established in 1994 and has 175 employees in 13 countries.
Richard had spent the previous 11 years with UBS in Hong Kong and Singapore, in various senior positions managing equity proprietary trading, convertible bonds and prime brokerage in the region. Prior to this, he was with Baring Securities in London and Tokyo, specialising in arbitrage trading and risk management.
Richard graduated in Computer Science from Manchester University, UK, in 1981 and was admitted as a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales in 1984.
