Mark Thornton joined 3i in 1995 and spent five years in the UK before joining 3i’s Asia business in 2000. As a founding partner he has played a lead role in the development of 3i’s Asia strategy and now runs the South-east Asian business, based in Singapore.
Mark focuses on investments in mid-market buyouts and growth capital transactions. Key deals that he has been involved in include Asia Capital Re, LHI Technology, Salamander Energy, Pearl Energy, Vantec, CJ CGV, IndiaReit and Franklin Offshore.
Prior to joining 3i, Mark worked at Arthur Andersen in London before transferring to Poland for two years, where he helped establish Andersen's Warsaw office.
Mark holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Finance and Accounting from Salford University and is a qualified chartered accountant. Mark sits on the Board of ACR. He is a member of the investment committee for IndiaReit and a member of the Securities Industry Council at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
