BNP Paribas Wealth Management bolsters Asia Pacific team

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has added seven individuals to its Asia Pacific business, with four senior hires joining the China team.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has added seven individuals to its Asia Pacific business, with four senior hires joining the China team.

Ivan Ching has joined as managing director, China Market, bringing with him over 17 years of experience in servicing high net worth and consumer clients in China. Ching joined from Credit Suisse where he was director and spent seven years focusing on ultra high net worth clients and major shareholders of China-listed companies. Prior to that, he worked for UBS.

Also joining as managing director, China Market, Alex Xu was most recently with Guosen Securities as managing director, corporate finance. Prior to that, he worked for Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, UBS and DBS Private Bank, servicing private clients in China.

With 18 years of experience in private banking, finance and control, as well as sales and business development, Maggie Zhang has joined as director, China Market. She was most recently with UBS as director for ultra high net worth clients in the China Market, and prior to that she worked for Credit Suisse.

Mandy Koo joined the firm as vice president, China Market. She has 15 years of experience in the market at leading private banks, most recently with Credit Suisse servicing China clients.

In addition, Louisa Yau and Wincy Ching joined the Hong Kong team, with Yau appointed as managing director, Hong Kong market, and Ching appointed as senior vice president, Hong Kong market.

With 25 years of experience servicing private clients, Yau has joined from HSBC Private Bank. Before that she worked for UBS and Chase Manhattan Private Bank. Ching was most recently Morgan Stanley as vice president, covering ultra high net worth clients in Hong Kong market. Prior to that, she worked for UBS and Credit Suisse.

On the products and services front, the firm has appointed Garth Bregman to solidify its discretionary portfolio management offering. He will join in July as regional head of discretionary portfolio management for Asia.
