Hubbis is delighted to announce the appointment of Reto Merazzi from UBS Wealth Management in the newly-created role of Managing Director and Head of Technology Solutions.
Effective June 1st, Merazzi will be responsible for building a technology community in the private banking and wealth management space in Asia, and for helping these organisations access the many opportunities in the region.
There are an increasing number of vendors, either based in Asia or internationally, which are looking to help private banks and other wealth management firms in this time-zone overcome the challenges they face in terms of how they use, improve and maintain their technology, processes and systems to ensure they keep pace with today’s rapidly-evolving environment.
"I am very excited to join this young and dynamic company,” said Merazzi, “and to be part of its mission, especially on the technology side, where I see huge potential to build a community which will increase the effectiveness of the business and IT interactions in the region.”
Hubbis has already started to develop relationships with the key individuals at some of these vendors, as well as those stakeholders at many of the leading private banks, consumer banks, IFAs, insurance companies and external asset managers in Hong Kong and Singapore which are looking for such solutions.

Merazzi’s arrival means Hubbis can provide a more holistic offering to enable the wealth management community to enhance their platforms from a front-to-back perspective.
Merazzi has more than 20 years of experience in banking. He started his career as a Client Advisor in Zurich before moving to Credit Suisse to work in the Securities Lending & Borrowing Middle Office. He has worked for UBS since 2000, where he held various managerial positions, most recently as Head of Strategic Portfolio Management in Wealth Management IT APAC. He was responsible for the e-Banking and Financial Intermediaries platforms when he started first in Switzerland, before moving on to driving the Client Advisor Workbench implementation globally with two-year assignments in Singapore and New York, before moving to Hong Kong in 2010.

Merazzi’s focus is on driving technology from a business perspective, combining strategic views with user perspectives. “We all know that technology implementations are never easy, especially in the current environment,” he explained. “However, what excites me most is to see how many great technology solutions are out there and to see how dramatically the quality and technology has improved over the last couple of years. If we can make these achievements available for the banking professionals here we will significantly increase the operational efficiency and the quality of the advisory process. This includes the regulatory compliance and use of various channels to interact with the client.”
