UBS’ certification process in its retail banking, wealth management and corporate clients areas are now officially accredited, and the firm has set new standards for over 5,000 client advisers in Switzerland to undergo the certification process over the next three years.
The externally-recognised certificates are known in retail banking as Certified Private Client Advisor and Certified Individual Client Advisor, in wealth management as Certified Wealth Management Advisor CWMA®, and in the corporate clients area as Certified Corporate Banker CCoB®.
According to a statement, the curriculum covers different issues relating to products, financing, investment, regulation and risk in the different business areas.
As client requirements and regulations constantly change, the certificates – issued by the independent Swiss Association for Quality – will have to be renewed every three years.
"With the external recognition of the certificates, UBS is setting a new standard that is currently unique in the financial centre,” said Lukas Gähwiler, chief executive officer of UBS Switzerland. “The certification process also boosts the leading role played by UBS as a training bank and allows us to offer our staff exciting development opportunities.”
