UBS has made two senior appointments for its ultra high net worth and global family office businesses in Asia.

UBS has made two senior appointments for its ultra high net worth (UHNW) and global family office (GFO) businesses in Asia.

Perhaps most notably, the firm has hired Joseph Poon as head of UHNW for South-east Asia. He is joining from Julius Baer, where he was managing director, after serving as chief executive officer of Macquarie Private Wealth Asia, based in Singapore, and being responsible for building up its UHNW segment in Asia.

In addition, Daniel Harel, currently head of UHNW for UBS in South-east Asia, will take over as head of GFOs for South-east Asia.

Harel has over 18 years of experience, most of which has been with UBS Investment Bank. In his new role, he will be responsible for delivering the “one bank” capabilities and build a dedicated GFO team, focusing on acquiring new clients.
